Shipper / Receiver
Perform a variety of low complexity shipping and receiving tasks; compare information on incoming or outgoing shipments; ensure shipping and receiving processes are consistent and conducted in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES
Performs the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment.
Examines stocks and distributes materials in inventory.
Import export shipping knowledge
Packaging of electronic assemblies
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education a minimum of a high school diploma
3-5 years’ of experience in commercial shipping
Experience of military packaging and mil package standards is a plus
Certified forklift operator is a plus.
The ability to be trained to operate a forklift and scissor lift is a must
Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals; ability to speak effectively before groups and customers or employees of the organization; communicate across organizational levels; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities
Computer skills: knowledge working in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Power Point, Excel, Word and Outlook software programs;
Math & Analytical skills: basic to intermediate mathematical skills, ability to calculate basic figures; ability to collect, analyze and summarize information to a general understanding; ability to think abstractly and separate complex ideas into simple elements;
Time Management and organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality

Must be able to standing and/or walk for more than 4 hours per day OR on be on feet for long periods of time
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds OR able to lift and manipulate heavy objects
Must have a valid driver’s license (operate company van)
Be willing to perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Follows established departmental policies, procedures and safety related standards
Willing to participate in continuous quality improvement objectives
