Support Project Manager with Product Transfer activities, from San Diego to the facility in Mexico. Attend weekly meetings and provide follow-up support on related actions. Interface with Programs, Import/ Export, Operations, Planning, Quality and Engineering, in San Diego and Mexico, to support follow-up on action items. Support periodic visits to Mexico facility in Tijuana. Assist Project Manager develop plans, in coordination with Customers, to transition assembly efforts from San Diego to Mexico.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:
Attend weekly Mexico RAIL meeting, and follow-up on tactical actions items.
Attend weekly Mexico planning meeting, and follow-up on action items on parts in process.
Attend weekly Outsourcing meeting, and follow-up on strategic planning action items on target parts.
Collaborate with Program Manager as required to execute program requirements in compliance with contracts.
Work as the program liaison to address issues that occur cross-functional operations teams to proactively facilitate resolution of issues.
Support Program Management and Operations Management with data collection of labor, cost and delivery lead time estimates for resource planning.
Participate in Program Management Reviews (PMR), Preliminary and Critical Design Review (PDR and CDR), Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR) as necessary.
Interface directly with customers and critical suppliers on behalf of Program Management; collaborate with Program Management internal and external customer interface.
Submit, monitor and distribute internal and external program documentation requiring configuration management and approval.
Evaluate program progress and provide status reports to customers and internal management as needed.
Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices.
Actively support Lean initiatives by attending training where applicable, participating in Lean activities (5S, Kaizen, problem solving, error proofing), making suggestions for improvements and sustaining improvements implemented; actively participate in team meetings and activities, including SET team support as appropriate.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Ability to obtain a passport.
Speaking Spanish would be a nice to have, but not required.
Collect, create, analyze and report program management data.
Performs work of independent nature and moderate to high complexity.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of applicable experience, BA/BS in Business, Communications, Liberal Arts, or a technical discipline, preferred. Strong attention to detail and customer service in a manufacturing environment, a plus; must be able to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, using independent judgment and discretion.
Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals; ability to speak effectively before groups and customers or employees of the organization; communicate across organizational levels; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities.
Computer skills: advance knowledge working in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Power Point, Excel, Word and Outlook software programs; ability to use Enterprise Resource Programs such as SAP, a plus.
Math & Analytical skills: basic to intermediate mathematical skills, including algebra and geometry; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area circumference and volume; ability to review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to collect, analyze and summarize information to a general understanding; ability to think abstractly and separate complex ideas into simple elements.
Reasoning skills: ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
