This role will report to the VP, Finance and will oversees the activities associated with the development, implementation and maintenance of the organization’s general accounting systems, including journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivables, accounts payable, revenue reconciliation, and cash flows, in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. Designs and implements operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve the accuracy and efficiency of the organization. Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue. May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Manages program finance analysts engaged in a wide range of financial, business and pricing analysis activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Applies and analyzes accounting principles on contracts, costs, processes, practices and procedures with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) interpretations. Ensures Continued approved status of major business processes and systems required to do business with U.S. Government. Interacts with federal regulatory agencies and internal personnel while investigating and resolving US and foreign government procurement regulatory compliance issues. Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management. May negotiate rate agreements, provide government regulatory accounting training to company personnel and evaluate company practices for compliance to regulations. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Prepares reports of findings and makes recommendations to management. May provide analysis supporting business development activities and may monitor business performance by unit, division or brand. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Will manage a small finance team comprised of junior accountant and program finance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EDUCATION EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or MBA in business, finance or related field.
5-10 years’ experience in Finance.
Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office software.
Experience in Manufacturing, Defense or Aerospace Field.
